Ralph is co-owner and a 4th degree black belt in kenpo karate with 24 years of teaching children and adults of all ages. He won "Most Outstanding" in fencing from 1985-1986 from Cleveland State University as well as was presented with the Presidential Sports Award in 1994. He has a master's degree in history from Cleveland State University (1988), a bachelor's degree in fine arts from Cleveland State University with a minor in Asian studies (1987), and a massage therapist's license from the Ohio College for Massotherapy (1985). His hobbies and interests include being involved in the Society for Creative Anachronism (medieval reinactment), fine arts and painting, and fencing and swordsmanship.
